About the role
This role is all about ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of a modern anaerobic digestion plant. You'll be handling a mix of mechanical and electrical engineering tasks, responding to plant issues, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, and keeping everything ticking over in line with operational targets. You'll work closely with a small on-site team and have the space to take real ownership of your work. About the client
This opportunity is with a leading name in renewable energy, operating an established anaerobic digestion facility in Hertfordshire. The plant plays a key role in converting local food and agricultural waste into renewable energy and biofertiliser helping to close the loop on sustainability and contribute to a greener future. It's a site that runs efficiently, with safety and innovation at the forefront and they are looking for someone who can slot into that vision.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. 1 week in 5 call out rota.
Key duties:
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site
- Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns and process issues
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects and upgrades
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures
- Monitoring plant performance and troubleshooting any faults
- Supporting the site team with general operations and process checks
Key requirements:
- Strong background in both electrical and mechanical engineering
- Understanding of pumps and electrical motors
- Safe isolation of electrical components
- Understanding of schematics
- Some electrical engineering qualifications not essential but an advantage
