Role based in Leeds - Initial 3 month Contract (Potential Extension)

Job Purpose
Perform configuration, management and troubleshooting tasks within the network team. Duties will be split between support, administrative and project based workloads. Strong adherence to change management processes and other security principles is required.
Accountabilities & Activities
- To provide 2nd/3rd line technical data infrastructure support, to meet, and endeavour to exceed, SLA requirements.
- Participate in Project Work, as required, to deploy, support and manage the predominantly Cisco data environment.
- To support Firewalls, VPN, LAN and WAN Technologies.
- Ensure adherence to policies, standards and Technical controls.
- Follow and adhere to and update Standard Build Documentation and create documentation as and where required to the Company Standards.
- Manage and engage with third party suppliers or maintainers as required.
- Perform on call duties where required.
- Monitor Support queues and with the guidance of the Team Leader ensuring potential issues are addressed and or escalated where required.
- Ability to travel between Client UK sites to support the business on a day to day basis.
- To attend Leeds office at least once a week.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Must have analytical skills and be able to solve technical problems across different platforms.
- Must be a team player and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have a mature attitude and a willingness to assume responsibility.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to all levels within the organisation.
- A valid UK driving license is essential.
- Solid Experience in one or more of the following:
- CCNA
- Experience of Support and Build
- Experience in producing support documentation
- Experience of firewall technologies and their respective management platforms
- An understanding of the purpose of firewalls in a multi client data centre environment
- Technical expertise in IP networks
- Excellent Network troubleshooting skills
- Azure networking experience desirable
- ITIL v3 desirable
Make decisions:
- Prioritise workload.
- Use of own initiative to identify appropriate technical solutions to both incidents and projects.
This role has the authority to interpret, evaluate and implement actions and decisions that affect the day to day support of Data infrastructure within approved guidelines and standards. It is expected that significant changes and initiatives will be subject to consultation. Direct supervision will be limited, however it is expected that the job holder will engage in active dialogue to keep the line manager informed.
This position demands a practical working knowledge of the differing technologies and industry products; including hardware, software and infrastructure, that deliver a variety of IT services to the Client Customer Management user environment. Responsibility for providing technical expertise and guidance as appropriate.
Environment
This role operates within an office environment but could also involve manual or physical activity around IT hardware and Comms Rooms. As such it is expected that the jobholder will be aware of comply with company rules and guidelines with respect to manual handling and risk assessment.
