Equipment Team Lead - DFG Adaptations

Location: Birmingham & Field-Based

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm

We are recruiting for an Equipment Team Lead to manage the end-to-end delivery of equipment cases within a DFG adaptations service.

This is an operational and process-led role, ideal for someone with experience managing adaptations, community equipment, housing, repairs & maintenance or specialist equipment contractors.

The Role

You will take ownership of equipment cases from initial survey and quotation through to approval, installation, completion and invoicing, ensuring all required evidence, documentation and approvals are in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple live DFG equipment cases from survey to completion.
  • Review surveys, quotations, photographs and supporting documentation.
  • Check proposed equipment against the approved Personal Needs Assessment (PNA).
  • Review scope, costs and additional works for accuracy and value.
  • Coordinate Purchase Orders and contractor mobilisation.
  • Manage and monitor specialist equipment contractors and suppliers.
  • Track installation programmes and proactively resolve delays.
  • Review completion packs, certificates and photographic evidence.
  • Ensure cases are fully compliant before final invoicing.
  • Monitor KPIs, outstanding POs, delayed installations and incomplete documentation.
  • Lead and support the equipment team, improving processes and performance.
  • Act as an escalation point for technical, contractor and customer issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and a clear audit trail.

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following:

  • DFG / Housing Adaptations
  • Community Equipment Services
  • Local Authority Housing or Adaptations
  • Repairs & Maintenance / Property Services
  • Stairlift, hoist or specialist equipment
  • Healthcare or Social Care Equipment
  • Contractor or supplier management

Experience with stairlifts, through-floor lifts, ceiling-track hoists or other specialist adaptations would be advantageous.

You don’t need to be a construction expert or Occupational Therapist, but you will need strong operational, organisational and contractor-management skills, together with the confidence to challenge suppliers and ensure processes are followed.

A full UK driving licence is required due to the field-based nature of the role.
