Reporting to the Maintenance Director, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising all prefabrication, maintenance, repair, modification, certification, and calibration activities related to equipment and tools, ensuring their use is safe and efficient. The role includes managing internal and external resources, as well as overseeing maintenance operations carried out both in-house and through subcontractors.
What you will do:
- Plan and supervise the maintenance team’s activities according to priorities and requests from job sites and asset managers.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all maintenance, repair, modification, and equipment fabrication activities under your responsibility.
- Manage all resources within the maintenance group, which may include buyers, mechanics, laborers, and welders.
- Maximise resource utilisation by ensuring proper task allocation across all available resources.
- Plan equipment maintenance work in collaboration with the Maintenance Planner, in accordance with equipment manufacturers’ recommendations.
- Coordinate with the Certification/Calibration Technician on certification and calibration activities for equipment located at the maintenance center or on job sites.
- Review and communicate to job sites the costs of repairs recharged to projects (operational breakage due to negligence or misuse of equipment).
- Provide recommendations and justifications for the renewal of equipment and tools.
- Enter data into the company’s integrated management software.
- Prepare budgets for major fabrication, maintenance, modification, and repair interventions.
- Conduct research to identify suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review subcontracted service invoices, ensuring costs are properly allocated.
- Plan and coordinate all safety meetings and report relevant information.
- Monitor periodic inspections and equipment certifications in collaboration with the Maintenance Planner and the Certification/Calibration Technician.
This role could be for you if you have:
- A DEP (vocational diploma)
- More than 8 years of experience in a similar role
- At least an intermediate level of English
- Strong people management skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Extensive knowledge of equipment in at least one of the following areas: earthmoving, deep foundations, lifting equipment (cranes), or marine equipment (tugboats and/or barges)
