Droitwich Full-Time 37500 £ / year On-site

WAREHOUSE MANAGER Droitwich £30,000 to £45,000 Hands-on. High standards. Total accountability. This is a new role, and you'll be the person setting the standard from day one. You'll take full ownership of the warehouse: your team, your stock, your cutting schedule and health and safety. You'll lead from the front, set clear expectations and make sure standards are followed every single day. This isn't a normal warehouse. You won't be picking and packing small parcels. You'll be handling every type of floor covering, including carpet rolls, carpet tiles, LVT, vinyl, safety flooring, adhesives and trims. You'll be cutting, lifting and loading materials, with 15–20 loads leaving the yard every day. It's physical. It's demanding. And some days, it's brutal. You need to be hands-on, decisive and prepared to hold people accountable. You'll spend around 75% of your time on the warehouse floor and 25% at your desk. Your biggest challenge won't be systems or space. It'll be standards. If you're comfortable setting the rules, enforcing them consistently and leading by example, this is your opportunity to take control. You'll work from 05:00 to 14:00, Monday to Friday, leading the Warehouse Supervisor and warehouse operatives as the team grows. What you'll be doing * Lead your team: Manage, motivate and develop warehouse operatives, including directly line managing the Warehouse Supervisor. * Set the standard: Enforce PPE and dress requirements every day. Safety boots are mandatory. Trainers are not acceptable. No exceptions. * Control the cutting schedule: Plan and organise cutting runs, ensuring orders are picked accurately and ready on time. * Stay ahead of demand: Keep the warehouse approximately two weeks ahead of requirements so the operation runs smoothly. * Get goods in right: Ensure incoming stock is booked in accurately and stored in the correct locations. * Control stock rotation: Maintain effective stock rotation and minimise waste, offcuts and unnecessary losses. * Own stock accuracy: Take full responsibility for stock control and stock takes, ensuring warehouse systems reflect what's actually there. * Own health and safety: Maintain safe working practices throughout the warehouse and the 100-metre yard. * Drive accountability: Make sure your team follows procedures, maintains standards and takes responsibility for its work. * Improve performance: Build clear reporting, monitor warehouse performance and recommend changes that improve efficiency and productivity. What you'll bring You need proven warehouse management experience and the confidence to lead people properly. This isn't a role where you can simply ask people to do things and hope they happen. You'll have experience managing a warehouse team and taking responsibility for daily operations. You'll be confident setting standards, enforcing rules and addressing poor performance consistently. You'll lead from the front and be happy spending most of your working day on the warehouse floor. You'll understand stock control, goods-in procedures, stock rotation and operational planning. You'll be comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to manage information and report on performance. You'll have a full UK driving licence. You'll be organised, practical and able to make decisions under pressure. Experience with counterbalance or reach forklift trucks, an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, or a background in flooring, construction or building materials will be a strong advantage. If you've built warehouse reporting processes from scratch, that's even better. The reality of the role Your working hours are 05:00–14:00, Monday to Friday. You'll be on the floor for approximately 75% of your time, working alongside your team and making sure the operation delivers. You'll be handling heavy and bulky materials, managing a busy cutting schedule and coordinating an operation dispatching 15–20 loads a day. You'll need to maintain standards when things get busy, not just when everything is going smoothly. You can't manage this warehouse from behind a desk. You'll need to be visible, decisive and consistent. When PPE rules aren't followed, you'll address it. When stock records don't add up, you'll investigate. When the cutting schedule falls behind, you'll take action. If you want a warehouse management role where you can make a genuine difference, build a stronger team and create an operation you're proud of, this is your chance. What you'll get in return * Company vehicle. * 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays. * Your birthday off, paid. * Pension with a 4% employer contribution. * Death-in-service cover worth four times your salary. * Income protection after six months. * All PPE and uniform provided. * Ongoing training and development. * Monthly team bonus of 2–5% through the Grand Plan, from day one. Ready to take charge? This is a new role with real responsibility. You'll have the opportunity to shape how the warehouse operates, establish the standards the team works to and build a more efficient, accountable operation as the business grows. If you've managed a warehouse before, know how to lead people and aren't afraid to have the difficult conversations, we want someone who can set the standard and make it stick. Lead the team. Control the stock. Raise the standards. If you're ready to take ownership and make your mark, it's time to step up
