Hours: 40 per week
Pay: £15.46 per hour + overtime opportunities
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Quarry Operative to join our site team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in operating plant safely, maintaining high standards, and contributing to the smooth running of a busy quarry environment.
The Role
- Operate mobile and static plant in a safe, efficient, and competent manner, in line with your certifications and Site Management instructions.
- Carry out general housekeeping tasks across the quarry as required.
- Support operations on the main processing plant, completing duties within your competence as directed by Site Management.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain all assigned mobile and static plant to a high standard, including refuelling, greasing, cleaning, and basic checks in accordance with manufacturer and MQP requirements.
- Operate plant as economically and efficiently as possible.
- Complete daily inspection and defect reporting documentation for mobile plant.
- Report faults, defects, or operational issues promptly to the Load & Haul management team.
- Submit near-miss reports and actively promote a strong health and safety culture.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Good general education with the ability to understand and apply health, safety, and Quarry Regulations.
- Relevant competency cards for loading shovel, ADT, and excavator.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar quarry or heavy plant environment.
