Overview
H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Project Planner to join a major Energy from Waste project based in Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring accurate reporting and control of project progress throughout the engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure alignment between schedule, cost, and scope.
- Monitor progress against baseline plans, identifying variances and providing early warnings of potential delays.
- Prepare regular progress updates, lookahead schedules, and performance reports for senior management and clients.
- Integrate subcontractor and supplier schedules into the overall master programme.
- Support change management processes, assessing the time impact of variations and delays.
- Conduct critical path analysis and propose recovery or mitigation plans when required.
- Attend project review meetings, providing planning input and insights to drive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with client reporting requirements and company planning standards.
- Support the preparation of tender and proposal schedules where required.
Experience & Skills Required
- Proven experience as a Project Planner within the Energy from Waste, power generation, or major industrial construction sectors.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 (essential) and working knowledge of MS Project.
- Strong understanding of project controls processes, progress measurement, and earned value analysis.
- Demonstrable experience managing schedules under EPC or NEC contract frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering and construction information.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
