Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a permanent position based in
Gloucester .
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team delivering and supporting mission-critical infrastructure for secure government and defence programmes.
Due to the nature of the work, current UK e DV clearance is essential .
The Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, deployment and support of secure infrastructure solutions across complex programmes.
Working within an Agile environment, you'll help maintain operational systems while contributing to the delivery of new capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain and support secure infrastructure and operational systems.
- Perform system administration, backup and recovery activities.
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure, network and application issues.
- Support system installation, maintenance and ongoing improvements.
- Research and resolve complex technical and system design challenges.
- Translate technical requirements into robust infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
About you
We're looking for candidates with experience in some or several of the following areas:
Essential Skills
- Experience working within
Agile, Scrum or Dev Ops environments.
- Strong background in infrastructure or systems engineering across the full project lifecycle.
- Linux administration and deployment.
- Experience supporting enterprise server, storage and desktop infrastructure.
- Ability to take ownership of technical work packages and collaborate with project teams.
- Understanding of large-scale, secure information systems.
Desirable Skills
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous
