Title:Junior Asset Verification Engineer - Industrial Plant (Kemsley, UK)


Contract Duration:6 months (full-time, on-site)


Location:Kemsley, ME10


Role overview


Field engineer supporting a 6-month physical asset verification project at a UK paper manufacturing plant. You will work as part of a team capturing equipment details, tagging assets, and updating records using structured survey forms and tablets.


Key responsibilities


  • Perform area-by-area walkthroughs to locate plant assets (mechanical, electrical, utilities).

  • Read and record nameplate data (manufacturer, model, serial, rating, year) into a standard survey form.

  • Apply or verify physical asset tags on equipment following project standards.

  • Take clear photos of assets, nameplates, and locations as evidence.

  • Record basic asset condition and operational status (running / standby / not working).

  • Match field findings to SAP / asset register records with support from senior engineers.

  • Follow all site safety rules, permit-to-work processes, and PPE requirements.

  • Work to daily productivity targets (around 40 assets per day) while maintaining data quality.


Required skills & experience


  • HNC / NVQ Level 3 / apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or similar (or equivalent experience).

  • Some experience in industrial, FM, utilities, or building services environments (maintenance, inspections, or similar).

  • Comfortable using tablets / mobile apps for structured data entry.

  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

  • Strong safety mindset and willingness to work in a large industrial site.

  • Prior exposure to asset tagging, asset surveys, or condition surveys.

  • Some experience with SAP, CAFM, or CMMS systems.
