We are working with a well-established contractor who is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support their Northern operations. This is a hybrid role, split between office, site, and home working, with an initial project based in Stoke. The position would suit someone based within a commutable distance of both Tamworth and Stoke.
Key responsibilities
- Take commercial responsibility across projects, supporting delivery teams to ensure financial performance and contractual compliance.
- Manage project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
- Produce valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Review and analyse subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare and issue subcontract payments and certifications.
- Carry out cost reporting and forecasting.
- Identify and manage commercial risks.
- Support dispute resolution where required.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, quality, and safety standards.
About You
To be considered, you should have a solid commercial background within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- Experience working on heavy civils schemes.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
- Confident managing subcontractors and commercial processes.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong numeracy and IT capability.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
