We are working with a well-established contractor who is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support their Northern operations. This is a hybrid role, split between office, site, and home working, with an initial project based in Stoke. The position would suit someone based within a commutable distance of both Tamworth and Stoke.

Key responsibilities

  • Take commercial responsibility across projects, supporting delivery teams to ensure financial performance and contractual compliance.
  • Manage project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Produce valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Review and analyse subcontractor quotations.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract payments and certifications.
  • Carry out cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks.
  • Support dispute resolution where required.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, quality, and safety standards.

About You

To be considered, you should have a solid commercial background within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Experience working on heavy civils schemes.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Confident managing subcontractors and commercial processes.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong numeracy and IT capability.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
