About the role
We’re looking for a UX Designer to join our Product & Engineering team. You will design intuitive, coherent, and effective digital and embedded products for safety‑critical grid environments, working across SaaS and PaaS touchpoints including embedded interfaces, commissioning tools, and analytics platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end experience design across SaaS platforms, embedded interfaces and operational tools
- Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, efficient user journeys and workflows
- Conduct user research, contextual inquiry, and usability testing to validate design decisions
- Develop prototypes and interaction models to test concepts and reduce risk before development
- Simplify complex data and operational workflows to reduce cognitive load and improve usability
- Drive consistency across products through shared design patterns, terminology and interaction standards
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams throughout discovery and delivery
- Ensure design intent is clearly communicated and preserved through implementation
- Identify and articulate usability risks early, supporting informed product and engineering decisions
- Champion user‑centred design principles across teams and promote a strong UX culture
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of interaction design, usability principles and workflow modelling
- Experience designing complex B2B or technical systems
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing
- Experience designing across web‑based applications and multi‑surface ecosystems
- Proficiency in prototyping and design tools (e.g. Figma or equivalent)
- Strong systems thinking and structured problem‑solving skills
- Ability to communicate design intent, rationale and trade‑offs clearly
- Strong collaboration skills with Product and Engineering teams
Desirable skills
- Experience within utilities, energy, industrial or safety‑critical environments
- Experience designing data‑heavy dashboards or analytics platforms
- Understanding of embedded or constrained interfaces
- Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles
- Experience working within product‑led or SaaS environments
