Location: Nationwide (WFH available), offices in Surrey
Responsibility: Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Development Manager will support and manage partnerships that the business operates with local authorities across the country. The Development Manager will be expected to take responsibility for the delivery of large and small projects across a range of sectors, demonstrating the planning and implementation of differing investment and exit strategies. They will manage the operation of their own partnerships as well as the generation and delivery of project opportunities across the partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Commercial Director in running partnerships across the country
- Managing partnerships including administrative duties
- Developing, running, and managing projects of all types and values within each partnership
- Identifying and developing new opportunities within each partnership
- Initiating and preparing development and asset management strategies and project briefs
- Assisting in the preparation and execution of asset management strategies
- Preparing feasibility, project appraisal and validation reports
- Monitoring and managing project budgets
- Selecting and appointing consultants
- Managing and supporting LLPs across the region
- Developing and maintaining relationships with officers and members within each partnership
- Populating and managing internal recording systems for projects and opportunities
Requirements
- Experience of working in the property profession in either the public or private sector, preferably within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of business development and conversion of opportunities in challenging environments.
- Exceptional relationship management skills
- A creative and forward-thinking approach
- Experience or understanding of working for an SME
- Experience of managing and setting own workload with limited support
- Experience and understanding of planning and property development.
- Experience of the submission of planning applications for various uses within and outside policy areas.
- Experience of achieving successful planning permission.
- Experience of managing a range of projects of varying complexity and size from inception to delivery.
- An awareness of the political nature of public/private sector partnerships and projects
- Experience of managing and directing a multi-disciplinary team of consultants and advisors.
- Experience of managing budgets as they relate to projects and varying streams of activity.
- An understanding and experience of property disposal
- An understanding and experience of property and building management
Benefits
Qualifications: Memberships of the RICS or other similar property related qualification or relevant and demonstrable practical experience. A full driver’s licence is required.
