Purpose Of Role

The Technical Compliance & Regulatory Manageris responsible forensuring the Companies Productsoperatein compliance with applicable UK(EU where applicable)legislation, regulations and industry standards whileanticipatingand responding to changes.

The role translates regulatory requirements into practicalrequirements, processes, controlsand guidance that support the safe, compliantand efficient delivery of the Company's EV charging network.

This is a specialist individual contributor role with significant cross-functional interaction.

Working closely with Technology, Legal, Delivery &Operations and third-party suppliers.

The rolealsosupports compliance governance, regulatoryassuranceand business readiness for regulatory change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Governance
  • Monitorrelevanttechnicallegislation, regulatory requirements and industry standards relating to EV charging, electricvehicle supply equipment, energy, consumer protection.
  • Develop andmaintaintechnicalcompliance policies, proceduresand governancecontrols.
  • Maintaintechnicalcompliancerisk registers andsupportmitigationplanswithother cross functionalbusiness owners.
  • Coordinatecompliance assurance activities, including audits, inspectionsand independent verification by internal teams and third parties.
  • Maintaincompliance evidence anddocumentation todemonstrateregulatoryadherence.
  • Supportstatutoryproductreporting and regulatory submissions.
  • Regulatory Monitoring and Policy
  • Monitor emergingtechnicallegislation, consultationsand regulatorydevelopments, highlighting potentialbusiness impacts.
  • Support the preparation of consultation responses and regulatory submissions whererequired.
  • Participate in industry forums, working groups and regulatory discussions to support the organisation's interests.
  • Develop andmaintaineffective working relationships with regulators, industrybodiesand external stakeholders.
  • Business Support&Integration
  • Work with Technology, Operations, Legal and Commercial teams to embed regulatory requirements into products, servicesand business processes.
  • Support theimplementationof regulatory change initiatives and business readiness activities.
  • Promotecomplianceawarenessthrough guidance, communicationandtraining.
  • Supplier Assurance & Reporting
  • Support supplier compliance reviews and ensureappropriate evidenceismaintained.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including DNOs, local authorities and service providers, on compliance-related matters.
  • Produce management reports on compliance performance, emergingrisksand regulatory developments.
  • Maintainaccuratecompliance records and documentation.

Requirements

Qualifications, Skillsand Experience

  • Degree in Electronic engineering or equivalent course
  • Experience working with IEC 61851, IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation, UKCA and CE compliance requirements, EMC and Radio Equipment Directive requirements, Low Voltage Directive principles, Electricalsafetyand product compliance standards,
  • Awareness of RED (Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU), Matter, ISO15115
  • Professional compliance qualificationor experience(e. g. ICA or CCEP) desirable.
  • Minimum five years' experience inproduct development working oncompliance, regulatorygovernanceor policy within a regulated industry such as energy, utilities, transportor EV infrastructure
  • Detailed Knowledge of EV charging regulations, energy markets, consumer protection, GDPR and industryessential.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional compliance, governanceor regulatory change initiatives.
  • Experience managing supplier assurance or outsourced compliance activities highly desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across internal teams, suppliersand external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skillsessential.
  • Experience producing policies, reportsandmanagementbriefings.
  • Competent in Enterprise Risk Managementmethodology

Day to day

  • Lead the verification of inhouse test methodologies against externalregulationsand standards
  • Lead open items with external test houses and verify test reports
  • Maintainworking technical product compliance tracking including the creation of supporting materials such astechnicalrationales.
  • Provide electrical standard, regulationsand compliance guidance to the business
