Bright Selection is recruiting for an experienced Clinical Governance Lead to take on a senior clinical leadership role within an established and growing national health and social care provider. This is an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in clinical governance, quality assurance and social care to take responsibility for maintaining and developing clinical standards across a national network of homecare branches.

Working as the most senior nursing professional within the organisation, you will provide clinical guidance, advice and professional support to franchise owners and managers, ensuring they have the appropriate frameworks and resources to deliver safe, effective and compliant care. The governance structure is already established, so the focus will be on maintaining standards, reviewing existing frameworks and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

The role will include:

  • Maintaining, reviewing and improving existing clinical policies, procedures and governance frameworks
  • Providing senior clinical advice and guidance to franchise owners and managers across the network
  • Acting as the senior clinical decision-maker for day-to-day clinical matters, taking accountability for professional decisions and escalating where appropriate
  • Ensuring franchisees have the clinical frameworks, resources and guidance required to deliver safe and effective care
  • Building strong relationships with franchise owners, providing professional reassurance and influencing clinical practice
  • Undertaking planned visits to franchise locations to review standards, identify support requirements and drive improvements
  • Working collaboratively with the central Quality and Governance team, including the Quality Manager and Clinical Learning & Development Manager
  • Supporting clinical governance across adult and children's social care services
  • Providing occasional clinical support to company-owned branches where required, although this will not be a regular requirement

Essential requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background and relevant professional registration
  • Previous experience in a senior clinical position such as Clinical Lead, Clinical Governance Manager, Head of Clinical Services or similar
  • Strong experience in clinical governance, quality assurance and clinical risk management
  • Experience within social care, with a good understanding of the regulatory requirements and clinical standards
  • Experience developing, reviewing and implementing clinical policies, procedures and governance frameworks
  • Confident making independent clinical decisions and taking accountability for professional judgement
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders without direct management responsibility
  • Highly organised, proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own workload and priorities
  • Willingness to undertake national travel and attend the head office in Epsom approximately two to three times per month

Experience within domiciliary care, complex care or community-based services would be advantageous, as would experience supporting multiple services across a regional or national structure. Knowledge of franchise operations would also be beneficial. Applications are welcomed from both adult and children's nurses, provided they have the relevant clinical governance and social care experience. The position is home-based, with planned national travel and regular engagement with franchise locations. You will work autonomously while remaining part of a small, collaborative central team, reporting to the Care and Quality Director.

Benefits include:

  • £3,000 annual car allowance
  • Mileage paid at 25p per mile from your home address
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Home-based and flexible working arrangements
  • Opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing national care network
  • Potential for future progression as the central clinical and governance function expands

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior nurse looking to move into a nationally focused clinical governance position, combining professional autonomy, relationship-building and the opportunity to influence care standards across a growing organisation.
