This post has become available due to a recent growth in pupil numbers for September, which gives us the exciting opportunity to expand our teaching team. Are you a caring professional looking for a new challenge in a unique environment? Sutherland House School is a non-maintained specialist school for autistic children and young people aged 3-19. The school prides itself on creating personalised learning opportunities with a vision for reaching potential for each individual pupil.

As part of a supportive staff team, you will have a passion for improving the lives for autistic pupils and their families.

We are looking for someone who can deliver highly person-centred education, supporting young people to develop the skills, confidence and independence they need for their next steps beyond school. You will have a commitment to planning and delivering engaging lessons and you will engage with a wide range of professionals, including therapists to ensure all pupils are reaching their full potential.

You will hold responsibility for supporting and leading your team who will work towards person-centred planning for each individual pupil. Previous experience with supporting autistic pupils or teaching in an additional needs environment is desirable however full training and support will be given.
