The Rigger travels to customer sites and supports our internal and external customers with the lifting plans required for all lifting activities.
- ROLE
- Review Lifting Plans of work to be completed with the appointed person, supervisor or lifting lead.
- Undertsand Lifting Plans and RAMS, actively participate in prejob briefs taking place before each lift.
- Ensure all laydown areas are prepared and kept clean and restrictive.
- Ensure that the crane or lifting equipment, whether owned by the business, client or third party is regularly visually checked for good condition and operation and STOP work if any issues (i. e. before each lift, as in lifting plans).
- Communicating any issue to the supervisor and quarantining faulty equipment.
- Ensure that all Lifting and rigging activities are conducted and performed in a manner that is Safe, this will be adherence to the lifting plans, RAMS documentation and LOLER Regulations.
- Reporting of completed rigging activities and issues including defective equipment.
- Be involved in a continual improvement programme.
- Actively perform Daily Safety Walk downs of the work area.
- Mentor and support members of the working party from 3rd Party supply, encourage squad centric attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- CPCS A40 Blue Card or NPORS N402 Blue Card qualification required
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Moving Engineering Construction Loads or equivalent
- Experience as a Level 3 Rigger
- Strong knowledge and experience across all lifting operations
- Experience within the power generation industry and large-scale construction projects preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Full UK Driving Licence required
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across the UK
- Flexible and willing to undertake additional training, including Fork Lift Truck and Crane operation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Nuclear Vetting clearance
- Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality work in challenging site environments
