Multi (semi) skilled maintenance operative required for housing provider.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Working as part of the maintenance team to respond to all basic maintenance and repair issues in the buildings, focusing on plumbing.
- Ensure that works are performed in accordance with agreed timescales, financial regulations, current legislation and budgets.
- To attend MIDAS training as required.
- To maintain a clean UK driving licence suitable for the organisation's vehicles.
- To complete multi-disciplined types of maintenance both inside and outside our properties such as plumbing, carpentry, plastering, basic electrical checks, groundwork and painting.
Essential criteria for the role:
- Extensive, provable, multi trade building/maintenance experience in particular the housing sector.
- Ability to reinstate void flats between tenancies and implement remedial works to kitchens and bathrooms.
- Ability to work on own initiative both alone and as a member of a team.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and innovative approach.
- Commitment to providing the highest quality service.
- Willing and able to travel within the organisation's buildings & suppliers as necessary.
- On-site safety awareness and a knowledge of relevant current legislation.
- The successful applicant will be working across several sites and must have their own transport (mileage paid) and be prepared to be on call during weekends, although you will rarely be called out.
