A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced 650v Electrical Installer/Tester to join our expanding D&P team delivering electrical installation and testing works across the London North East, East Coast and East Midlands regions. You will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant and high‑quality installations on a variety of rail infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on 650v signalling power and associated systems. This role is well suited to an electrically competent rail professional with hands‑on installation/testing experience and the ability to work safely within a fast‑paced rail environment.

About the Business Unit
You’ll be joining a busy Rail Systems/Electrical team delivering a diverse portfolio across the regions. Our workstreams include:
- 650v Signalling Power Installations
- SSP Cable Installations
- Bender Unit Installations
- ASP - Auxilliary Supply Point, FSP - Functional Supply Point & PSP - Principal Supply Point Works.
- Electrification & Power
- Signalling
- Telecoms & Comms
The Role
As a 650v Electrical Installer/Tester, you will be responsible for the safe and compliant delivery of a range of electrical installation and testing activities across multiple D&P rail projects. You will carry out D&P Installations, including but not limited to, 650v Signalling Power Works, Points Heating Systems, DNO Installations, Class II Installations across the London North East, East Coast & East Midlands regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test and commission 650v signalling power systems and associated electrical equipment.
- Carry out DNO, Points Heating and Class II equipment installations to required standards.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant technical standards, safety rules and project specifications.
- Complete all installation records, test sheets and documentation accurately.
- Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Engineers and Project Managers.
- Participate in site briefings, toolbox talks and safety discussions.
- Demonstrate a consistently high standard of Health & Safety behaviour.
- Develop positive relationships with all parties associated with the contract.
- Maintain IRSE competence.
- Attend commissioning and handover meetings with clients as directed by the Site Agent.
- Review and manage the quality of installation works.
- Control the close‑out of contracts to ensure all required activities are completed to client satisfaction.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and apply industry best practice.
- Carry out any other authorised duties commensurate with the role.
Skills & Experience Required
- Electrical installation experience within a rail environment.
- Competence in 650v installations and testing.
- Strong understanding of D&P installation practices.
- Ability to work safely and independently on operational rail sites.
- Supervisory capability beneficial.

Desirable: COSS SMTH / G110
