As part of a fast-paced Inside Sales Department, the Inside Sales Administrator will serve as key contact point for distributors and area sales managers, responsible for coordinating all aspects of customer service including order processing, quotation generation & follow up, delivery checks, technical enquiries and order expediting, delivering a world‑class level customer service to all internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with incoming telephone and email enquiries from customers promptly, efficiently and effectively.
  • Answer information or queries on stock availability, existing orders, new enquiries, and accurately input customer orders into QAD, providing pricing and quotations.
  • Use the company’s Customer Concerns Software to process customer concerns—including delivery, pricing, and invoicing—putting the customer front and centre.
  • Use QAD system and generated reports to proactively maintain and manage key customer order books, ensuring projected sales are reviewed and updated.
  • Use the defined channels for progressing improved due dates for specific order lines and expedite orders with our Supply Chain and Value Streams/Planners.
  • Liaise with shipping departments to arrange airfreight/DHL carrier shipments if requested by customer or external sales teams, only after agreement by the business in advance.
  • Assist Finance in reducing the number of outstanding invoices held by customers and waiting for discrepancy resolution.
  • Utilise the Crane Business System to continuously improve processes and efficiency.
  • Use defined channels to ensure that any leads on new projects or customer requirements are raised at the appropriate level or actioned as appropriate.
  • Complete ad‑hoc tasks and provide administrative support as required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years in a telephone‑based customer service role, ideally with a technical product, and be able to work using their own initiative with excellent time‑management and prioritisation skills. The candidate must possess a high level of drive combined with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and have experience of working in a very busy, fast‑paced work environment.
