  • We are seeking an experienced

Project Manager II with a strong background in power generation, power delivery, renewable energy, or heavy industrial projects .

This role will lead cross-functional project teams and be responsible for project planning, execution, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, stakeholder communication, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate activities across engineering, operations, construction, and other stakeholders.
  • Track project costs and ensure work remains within approved budgets.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor schedules, deliverables, and overall project performance.
  • Manage scope changes and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Resolve project issues and escalate critical concerns when necessary.
  • Implement appropriate project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Ensure quality standards and project requirements are met.
  • Lead project closeout activities, stakeholder sign-off, and lessons-learned reviews.
  • Required Qualifications

5–10 years of project management experience.

  • Minimum

5 years of experience in power generation, power delivery, renewable energy, or heavy industrial environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Strong experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies including Agile and/or Scrum.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the Southern Company service territory for project work.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or other recognized project management certification.
  • Utility or energy industry project management experience.
  • Experience with power plant, transmission, renewable energy, construction, or capital improvement projects.
