About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer / Software Architect to join our engineering team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in defining the software architecture of complex embedded products, working at both the system and component level. You will be responsible for treating an embedded product as a collection of interconnected hardware modules, each with its own software components, and designing robust software architectures that enable these components to work together seamlessly. This role requires someone who can think strategically about embedded system design while remaining hands-on with implementation, integration and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect software for complex embedded systems comprising multiple hardware components.
  • Define software architecture and interfaces between hardware and software modules.
  • Evaluate different software and hardware interface options, providing clear technical reasoning and design justification.
  • Develop integration strategies to ensure software components function together as a complete embedded product.
  • Design comprehensive test strategies and test plans covering individual software components and full system integration.
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to technical decision-making, architecture reviews and best engineering practices.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in an Embedded Systems Engineer, Software Architect, or similar senior embedded engineering role.
  • Demonstrable experience architecting software for embedded products consisting of multiple hardware and software components.
  • Strong C and C++ programming skills.
  • Commercial Linux development experience.
  • Experience evaluating hardware/software interfaces and making sound architectural decisions.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software integration and system-level design.
  • Experience developing structured software test plans and integration testing strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience developing embedded IoT products.

Please note, we cannot offer sponsorship for the role. If interested, please send over an updated CV.
