Wordsmith is building the AI command centre for in-house legal teams. Legal teams sit at the centre of every major business decision, but the tools they use were built for a slower era. We’re changing that. Wordsmith embeds AI directly into legal workflows so in-house teams can move at the speed of the businesses they support. We’re a venture-backed AI company growing quickly in Edinburgh, with engineering at the heart of what we do. To support that growth we’re looking for a Technical Recruiter to help us build one of the most ambitious AI engineering teams in Scotland.
What you’ll do
- Own technical hiring
- Lead recruitment across our engineering organisation, including:
- Product Engineers
- Applied AI / LLM Engineers
- Platform and infrastructure roles
- Product and technical leadership roles
- Build strong pipelines
- Proactively identify and engage engineers across Scotland, the UK and Europe. We are looking for people who can find exceptional talent, not just manage inbound applicants.
- Partner with engineering leaders
- Work closely with our CTO and engineering managers to define roles, refine interview processes and hire the right people.
- Run excellent hiring processes
- Manage hiring end-to-end: role kick-offs, sourcing and outreach, interview coordination, candidate experience, offer negotiation
- Help us scale
- Improve our hiring playbooks, interview scorecards and recruiting infrastructure as the engineering team grows.
What we’re looking for
- Experience recruiting software engineers in fast-growing technology companies
- Strong sourcing ability and comfort approaching passive candidates
- Ability to partner closely with technical stakeholders
- High ownership and pace in a startup environment
- Strong judgement on talent and culture fit
- Based in Edinburgh or willing to relocate
Why this role matters
The pace of product development depends on the people building it. The engineers we hire today will shape the platform for years to come. You’ll play a central role in building a team capable of delivering on that ambition.
What you’ll get
- Competitive salary and equity
- The chance to help build a category-defining AI company
- A fast-moving environment where recruiters are trusted partners, not coordinators
- A strong engineering culture focused on shipping and ownership
