About the role

West Yorkshire Police, the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (Yat H RSSS), is looking to recruit a Lead Quality Representative to be based at Calder Park in Wakefield.

Overview

The successful candidate will support and maintain the mechanisms of the Yat H RSSS Quality Management System (QMS), including the auditing of multiple forensic activities to evidence compliance with International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) standards and requirements.

The role requires a keen sense of attention to detail when checking, preparing, and presenting reports, updating QMS records, and a fundamental understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Audit forensic activities to ensure compliance with ISO and FSR standards.
  • Maintain and update QMS records and documentation.
  • Prepare, review, and present audit and quality reports.
  • Investigate and document root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Work flexible hours to meet business needs and travel throughout the Yorkshire and Humber area as required.

Qualifications

  • Sound understanding of ISO/FSR standards, requirements, and accreditation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.

Expectations

  • Availability to work flexible hours and travel within Yorkshire and Humber.
  • Provide biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for routine speculative searching purposes.

Benefits

  • Salary within the career progression scheme, normally at the bottom scale-point of the grade; possible appointment at a higher scale-point subject to approval.
