As Wayve’s Model Release Manager, you will steward the end-to-end lifecycle of AI models from hypothesis through training, evaluation, validation, and deployment across the vehicle fleet. You’ll implement structured release practices to balance rapid iteration with safety and reliability in production. You’ll work at the intersection of ML, software, and product, ensuring model releases align with engineering goals and onboard system constraints. This role offers the chance to shape how cutting-edge autonomous-driving models reach customers at scale.

Responsibilities
- Own the model release cycle with a steady cadence aligned to business priorities
- Define and manage gating and promotion criteria across hypothesis, training, evaluation, validation, and deployment
- Lead investigations of regressions and issues; manage rollbacks and roll-forwards of model versions
- Identify bottlenecks in the release process and implement dashboards and KPIs for visibility
- Build processes and frameworks to support clarity, stability, and business goals across model releases
- Influence end-to-end release tooling with ML platform and integration teams to improve developer experience
- Collaborate with ML engineering, evaluation, data science, software platform, testing, and product teams to ensure stable releases
- Maintain central communication on model-release status, risks, and timelines for stakeholders
- Conduct post-release reviews and drive corrective actions across teams
Key requirements
- 5+ years in release management, software engineering, or related field
- Strong SDLC and release-management knowledge including testing, integration, branching, and versioning
- Understanding of ML concepts: training vs inference, model versions, probabilistic validation
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitHub, Buildkite, CLI tools)
- Proven ability to manage releases in complex, fast-moving systems
- Comfort with high ambiguity and adaptable release processes/tooling
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making in data-limited trade-offs
- Good communication skills for engineers and leadership
