Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe represents WBD’s portfolio of sports brands, channels, and platforms in Europe. Your new role...

As Warner Bros. Discovery Inc’s portfolio continues to grow – around the world and across platforms – the Global Technology & Operations team is building media technology and IT systems that meet the world class standard for which Discovery is known. GT&O builds, implements and maintains the business systems and technology that are critical for delivering Warner Bros. Discovery’s products, while articulating the long-term technology strategy that will enable Warner Bros. Discovery’s growing pay-tv, digital terrestrial, free-to-air and online services to reach more audiences on more platforms. From Amsterdam to Singapore and from satellite and broadcast operations to SAP, we are driving Discovery forward on the leading edge of technology. You will mainly be involved on WBD Sports. The channels moved in a technology transformation for all his equipment home of all countries in Europe based on a hybrid architecture on premise and cloud. London and Paris team manage the engineering and support of this new group surrounded by two playout center and all the markets in Europe from Eurosport.

Your role accountabilities...

  • As part of the M2P Engineering team, this role provides Tier 2 support and engineering expertise for MAM and post-production platforms within a virtualized hybrid on-premises and cloud environment.
  • Support:
    • Tier 2 support
    • Manage tickets escalated from Level 0 and Level 1 support teams
    • Coordinate incident and problem follow-up with internal and external teams
    • Follow up update on platform day to day with the support Tier 1
    • Plan maintenance activities
    • Upgrade phases and reboot action coordination
    • Monitor and maintain the overall health and performance of the platform
  • Engineering:
    • Manage short-term engineering project
    • Collaborate with tier3 engineering team
    • Gather workflow requirements from WBD Sports, TNT Sports and Eurosport offices
    • Produce workflow, project and engineering documentation
    • Design centralized workflows across MAM and Post-Production platforms
    • Support users through change management and new projects implementation

Qualifications & Experiences..

  • Degree in Technology, Engineering, Broadcast, or a related field
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • French language skills are desirable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure, particularly when supporting production teams during live events
  • Self-motivated and collaborative team player with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Broadcast Technology in a support or engineering role
  • Experience in Sports, News, Production and Documentary environments
  • Experience with MAM and Post-Production tools
  • Extensive Broadcast technical background (IP video 2110, AES 67, NMOS, video and audio formats and codec…)
  • Good understanding of IT technologies and the associated challenge (network, virtualization, storage, cloud services, security…)
  • Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure systems remain efficient, scalable, and aligned with business growth

  • Basic scripting and development skills
  • Knowledge of AWS services
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture

General

  • Work on shift (evening and weekend)
  • Night work may be required depending on live events
  • On-call rotation
  • Based in London, UK
  • Minimal travel expected
  • Permanent contract
