We thrive on complex challenges and deliver business-critical IT transformation projects, moving seamlessly from strategy, design and delivery to operations.
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join us on a Fixed-Term Contract for 6 months initially to help drive quality and scalability in our latest projects. If you love collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, designing smart automation strategies, and mentoring others in a supportive, growth-oriented environment, we would love to hear from you!
We champion modern, balanced working and offer a hybrid setup, asking you to collaborate in person 2 days a week from either our Glasgow or Dundee offices.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior QA Engineer, you will operate as a trusted quality champion, guiding engineering teams to define QA approaches for complex features and implementing scalable automation frameworks. You will lead collaborative defect triage sessions, design automated non-functional tests (NFRs), and help teams establish smart test data strategies. Acting as a supportive technical mentor, you will foster engineering growth through constructive code reviews and collaborate closely with developers to make our systems naturally easier to test.
- Strategy & Collaboration: Shaping testing approaches for complex features, embedding risk analysis into the workflow, and guiding exploratory testing efforts.
- Framework Architecture: Building and evolving modular, reusable, and scalable automation components, and seamlessly integrating quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- NFR Integration: Designing and automating tests for performance, security, and accessibility to ensure quality is built-in from the very start.
- Mentorship & Growth: Supporting and mentoring other QAs to help them grow their skills, and providing encouraging, constructive feedback through peer code reviews.
- Community & Inclusion: Leading QA knowledge-sharing sessions and owning community initiatives such as accessibility or regression standards.
What you'll bring: We know that excellent QA professionals come from all backgrounds, and no one matches a job description 100%. If you meet the core requirements below and are excited about the role, please apply—we value potential, adaptability, and diverse perspectives just as much as checkboxes!
- Automation Expertise: Proven track record as a Lead or Senior QA Engineer with a deep understanding of test automation strategy and setup.
- Mobile Testing Mastery: Extensive, hands-on experience building and scaling mobile automation suites across iOS and Android from the ground up, using Maestro.
- Technical Tooling: Experience with modern programming languages for automation (with a focus on clean, reusable code) and professional experience with Postman for API testing.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Proficiency with Git and experience integrating automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions).
- Relationship & Communication Skills: The ability to balance speed, quality, and risk while building trusted partnerships and managing client stakeholder expectations with empathy and clarity.
