Wellbeing Manager
About the role
Location: London Campus (up to 40% hybrid working by agreement).
Salary: £40,000‑£45,000 per annum.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time, permanent.
Department: Higher Education – Student Services.
Reports to: Director of Students.
Role Overview
Lead the development and delivery of Walbrook’s wellbeing support model, driving a proactive approach focused on early intervention, student success, inclusion, and resilience. Oversee wellbeing services, safeguarding processes, welfare interventions and specialist support provision, ensuring timely, high-quality support for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance student wellbeing services across the institution.
- Manage complex student welfare and wellbeing cases.
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and support institutional safeguarding and Prevent responsibilities.
- Manage counselling and specialist wellbeing support provision.
- Use student feedback, data, and sector best practice to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and support a team focused on delivering an outstanding student experience.
- Produce insights and reporting to inform decision‑making and improve student outcomes.
About You
- Experience supporting students with complex wellbeing and welfare needs.
- Experience managing safeguarding concerns and risk assessment processes.
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
- Excellent relationship‑building and communication abilities.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.
- A commitment to inclusion, student success, and continuous improvement.
Professional qualifications in counselling, mental health, safeguarding, psychology, social work or related disciplines, together with Mental Health First Aid training and professional body membership, would be advantageous.
