About the role

Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to work within an all-through school, supporting students with autism to achieve their academic and personal goals. The Role:

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students with autism, helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum while fostering independence and confidence in their learning.
  • Encourage the development of emotional regulation, social skills, and effective communication strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SEND professionals, and external agencies to provide consistent and effective support.
  • Implement individualised learning and support plans designed to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Track, monitor, and record student progress, contributing to ongoing assessment and development.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all students feel safe, valued, and supported.

About you:

  • To be considered for the Autism Support Specialist role, you will hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, which are desired but not essential.
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
