Vertical Recruitment are working with an award winning civil and structural engineering consultancy in Manchester. They have recently secured a number of detailed government frameworks and now have an immediate requirement for a Drainage Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.
Rate - Negotiable and competitive
Duration - Minimum 6 months plus extension

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer to act on behalf of the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) within a Development Control setting. The successful candidate will support the assessment of planning applications, ensure compliance with SuDS and national standards, and provide specialist technical advice on flood risk and drainage strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Review and assess drainage and flood risk elements of planning applications
- Provide expert advice to developers, design teams, planning officers and stakeholders
- Ensure schemes align with SuDS principles, guidance and national legislation
- Contribute to LLFA statutory consultee duties
- Support the delivery of high quality, sustainable and compliant drainage solutions
- Attend meetings as required and collaborate with internal and external partners
- Strong technical understanding of drainage design, flood risk and SuDS
- Experience working with or for a Lead Local Flood Authority
- Proven background in Development Control is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly
- Up to date knowledge of national SuDS standards, local policy and relevant legislation
- Proficiency with drainage design software is an advantage
