About the Team
They are a team of dedicated cost managers providing commercial advice to blue-chip clients across the North of England, including commercial developers, housing associations, educational institutions, and local and central government. Their aim is to deliver a "best in class" service that ensures cost certainty and protects our clients' commercial objectives at all times.
Responsibilities
As an MEP Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a full suite of MEP Cost Management services to clients.
- Leading MEP Cost Management commissions and ensuring their successful delivery.
- Offering effective support and mentoring to graduates and apprentices.
- Managing and completing commissions efficiently, on time, and to client satisfaction.
- Building strong reciprocal relationships with clients and project team members.
- Serving as an interface with new and existing clients.
- Ensuring all reporting staff have current and relevant training.
- Delivering MEP Cost Management outputs within agreed timescales and quality standards.
Qualifications
Degree Qualified: BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
Experience: Proven experience in a consulting or contractor environment, providing the full spectrum of MEP cost management services, including Pre-Contract Estimating, Procurement, Contract Administration, Cost Reporting, and Final Account resolution.
Advisory Skills: Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value, and risk.
IT Proficiency: Excellent IT skills with the ability to use digital measurement, cost planning, and tender document tools.
Sector Experience: Experience with project types/sizes/sectors within their active sectors in the UK, particularly in the North (e.g., Commercial Offices, Residential, Mixed-Use, Education, Healthcare, and Industrial).
Independence: Ability to work independently and collaborate with Senior MEP Cost Managers and Associates.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Qualifications: Chartered Quantity Surveying status with the RICS, CIOB, or other equivalent institution.
CSCS Card: Preferred but not essential.
