The Role: The Executive Creative Director is responsible for defining and leading Uncovered's creative vision, ensuring every piece of work reflects the agency's ambition to create culture-driving, social-first campaigns that deliver commercial impact. As the creative leader of the agency, the Executive Creative Director sets the creative standard across all clients, pitches and outputs, inspiring teams to produce work that is platform-native, culturally influential and impossible to ignore. This role combines creative leadership, strategic thinking and commercial awareness to shape the agency's creative direction, develop world-class talent and strengthen Uncovered's reputation as one of the industry's leading social-first agencies.
Creative Vision & Leadership:
- Define and champion Uncovered's creative vision, standards and point of view across the agency.
- Own the overall quality of creative output across all clients, campaigns and new business.
- Set the benchmark for social-first creativity, ensuring ideas are culturally relevant, platform-native and commercially effective.
- Act as the agency's final creative authority, providing leadership and creative sign-off where required.
- Build an environment where ambitious thinking, experimentation and creative excellence thrive.
Agency Growth & Creative Reputation:
- Lead the agency's creative contribution to new business, pitches and strategic opportunities.
- Shape Uncovered's creative positioning within the industry and strengthen its reputation through award-winning work, thought leadership and innovation.
- Identify emerging opportunities across platforms, creator ecosystems, AI and new technologies that enhance the agency's creative offering.
- Represent the agency externally with clients, partners, industry events and media.
Creative Strategy & Campaign Development:
- Oversee the development of breakthrough creative ideas from insight through to execution.
- Partner with Strategy to translate audience, cultural and behavioural insights into distinctive creative platforms.
- Ensure campaigns balance entertainment, storytelling, effectiveness and measurable business outcomes.
- Champion creator-led thinking, social storytelling and platform-first creative across every brief.
Creative Excellence & Innovation:
- Maintain exceptional standards of craft, originality and effectiveness across every project.
- Encourage experimentation with new creative formats, production techniques, technologies and storytelling approaches.
- Drive innovation across AI, creator collaboration, production workflows and emerging social platforms.
- Ensure work reflects the speed, authenticity and behaviours of modern social media.
Team Leadership & Creative Culture:
- Build, mentor and inspire a high-performing creative department.
- Coach Creative Directors and senior creatives, developing the next generation of creative leaders.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performance culture where creativity can flourish.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback that elevates both ideas and individuals.
- Promote curiosity, cultural awareness and continuous learning across the department.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Partner closely with Strategy, Client Services, Production and Operations to ensure creative ambition is delivered efficiently.
- Balance creative excellence with commercial objectives, operational realities and client needs.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, confidently presenting and defending creative work.
- Support agency leadership in shaping business strategy, capability growth and long-term creative evolution.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 18+ years' experience in creative agencies with significant experience leading integrated and social-first creative teams.
- Proof of awarding work from industry bodies - Cannes Lions, Effies, IPAs etc.
- Proven experience as an Executive Creative Director, Creative Director or equivalent senior creative leadership role.
- Outstanding portfolio demonstrating culturally relevant, social-first campaigns with measurable commercial impact.
- Experience leading large multidisciplinary creative teams across strategy, design, copy, creators and production.
- Proven success leading major pitches, client relationships and agency growth initiatives.
- Experience building award-winning creative work and developing agency reputation.
- Deep understanding of creator culture, digital communities, platform behaviours and evolving consumer trends.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience balancing creative ambition and business performance.
