KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead the Maritime Infrastructure Department, being the designated person for EMPROC.
- Accountable for the day-to-day operation to meet contractual obligations with safety and efficiency in mind, ensuring all team members have received the required training, processes are established, documented, maintained and appropriate risk assessments with systems such as Centrik adopted in line with our SMS.
- Accountable for all aspects of Maritime Assets including Piers their equipment (e.g. ramps etc), employee welfare spaces, the Welcome Barge and other assets including Head Office Clipper House, including but not limited to maintenance (tactical, preventative and life-cycle planning), cleaning, development (new builds and upgrades etc).
- Accountable for third party relationships, including with tenants where UBTC is the landlord and with Landlords where UBTC has contractual obligations and service standards to maintain.
- Lead on regulatory requirements such as river works licenses as required to support business requirements.
- Accountable for developing business cases, the purchasing process, budget and contract management for the Maritime Infrastructure department.
- To support the requirements and deliverables of London Cruise and Yacht lead and manage marine logistics for cruise ship operations.
- To identify new environmental and sustainability projects with the view of reducing waste and energy consumption.
- Accountable for the companies Environmental Management System where highlighted and ISO 14001:2015.
- General Facilities Management responsibilities for Thames Clipper locations.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
- Maintain and develop the Maritime Infrastructure organisational remit, recruiting and training appropriate dedicated and shared resource.
- Create business plans and establish project plans for new and established Maritime Infrastructure projects in line with corporate Projects and Procurement strategy.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and defect rectification across the Maritime Infrastructure remit, including piers, equipment and offices. Ensure consistent workplace offering and standards across all office locations.
- Ensure effective processes, records and communications channels are established to support and manage the requirements of our tenants and landlords as appropriate.
- Define, implement and deliver processes and risk assessments to ensure safe, compliant and customer centric service at our piers for 3rd party clients (e.g Waverly at Gravesend), ensure effective oversight on operational days as appropriate.
- Define and deliver agreed KPI’s related to Maritime Infrastructure department, including but not limited to pier cleanliness and maintenance metrics.
- Define and deliver strategic budgets for long term investment requirements into the Maritime Infrastructure estate.
- Negotiate annual budgets and manage to those budgets.
- Identify and deliver all legislative requirements associated with Maritime Infrastructure (this includes channel dredging etc) remits such as River Works Licences etc.
- Communicate with internal departments and to be the point of contact to ensure Maritime Infrastructure requirements are coordinated effectively with the objectives of the business and other departments.
- Define the departmental training requirements in collaboration with UBTC Safety Department to ensure that all Maritime Infrastructure colleagues are trained to a clearly defined level pertinent to their role.
- Accountable for non-staff costs within the Maritime Infrastructure department and cruise ship operations, including but not limited to training costs and ship supplementary equipment to also control purchases and PO system.
- Source and manage third party contractors, ensuring defined scope of services/requirements and manage them to ensure efficient and safe delivery.
- To communicate and plan, working alongside Fleet and Crew Operations ensuring that all requirements for London Cruise and Yacht customers are delivered.
- To give an operational insight to designs for all new piers and infrastructure as required, including office facilities.
- Assist in developing and maintaining effective teamwork within departments.
- Provide and promote the highest level of customer service, source and provide information on new technology that can help deliver a first class experience across the Maritime Infrastructure remit as appropriate.
- To assist with matters of HR within the department and support other departments including investigations and disciplinary hearings.
- Continuously seek ways to improve personal, team and business performance.
- Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request by COO and any member of the executive leadership team.
- Ensure that you comply with all Health and Safety regulations and safe working practice as required by current legislation and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and practices.
- Ensure that all relevant information is communicated speedily and accurately in a way that ensures that the information is received and easily understood.
- Ensure that all materials and resources are effectively and efficiently utilised to minimise waste and reduce costs.

KEY SKILLS:

- Flexible approach including the requirement to be on call and work outside of normal operational hours, including weekends.
