Our working culture encourages entrepreneurship, shared ideas and technical collaboration, while providing you with the freedom to do your best work.

We’re looking for a creative, hands-on mechanical engineer with a commercial mindset to join our Energy & Process Technologies team. The transition to a more sustainable future depends on turning new ideas into practical technologies. Our EPT team develops products that help decarbonise industry, transform the way chemicals are made, and accelerate the adoption of modern energy-generation technologies. By combining deep scientific expertise in electrochemistry and power electronics with systems, chemical, and product engineering, we deliver complex, commercially viable solutions for our ambitious clients.

As a mechanical engineer at TTP you’ll work on complex engineering challenges, using a solid grounding in first-principles engineering knowledge to identify and develop solutions. This will involve a combination of creative idea-generation, analysis, modelling, design and problem solving, as well as hands-on experimental work to take your ideas from the lab to pilot scale testing. As a consultant, you’ll also use this knowledge to explore new business opportunities for the team and will have the opportunity to build your project leadership capability. With superb facilities, bright and collaborative colleagues and the freedom to innovate, your future at TTP is what you make it. We value ambition, leadership and technical excellence and we provide a fantastic environment to develop your career.

We’re looking for a commercially minded mechanical engineer who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. Ideal candidates will bring demonstrated mechanical engineering capability, through a strong academic background and expertise in the following areas:

  • Ability to perform mechanical calculations, including stress analysis, strength assessments, and thermals.
  • Design experience using CAD tools such as SolidWorks and/or OnShape.
  • Electromechanical system design and integration.
  • Specification and design of mechanical components, including procurement support and supplier engagement.
  • Systems-level thinking enabling input to risk management and failure mode analysis.
  • System modelling from first principles using MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Practical, hands-on laboratory skills.
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture.

Nice to have:

  • Working knowledge of the regulatory framework associated with pilot plants, pressure equipment and potentially explosive/hazardous environments.
  • Experience of tolerance analysis and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Understanding of heat transfer, including heat flux calculations and thermal analysis.
