Service Engineer Automatic & Industrial Doors

Location: Midlands (covering Birmingham, Coventry, Nottingham, Leicester, and surrounding areas)

Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

Basic Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum

OTE: £60,000+ (with door-to-door pay, overtime, and on-call bonuses)

The Opportunity

TSM Technical is working on behalf of a well-established service partner in the door systems industry. We're looking for a Service Engineer to cover the Midlands, supporting a growing client base across commercial, retail, and industrial sectors. This is a varied and rewarding role focused on the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic and industrial doors. The position offers long-term career progression, full support from a regional engineering manager, and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, repair, and install: Industrial shutters, roller doors, and sectional doors
  • Diagnose faults and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Respond to emergency call-outs and breakdowns
  • Complete all job reporting using a company-issued iPad
  • Follow health & safety procedures and wear full PPE
  • Deliver high standards of customer service while on site
  • Participate in the on-call rota (approx. Minimum 2 years experience with automatic doors)

Qualifications

  • EN16005 or BS7036 qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • CSCS card
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Comfortable with digital reporting (iPad/tablet use)

Desirable:

  • Experience with industrial doors
  • IPAF, PASMA, or DHF accreditation

  • Basic Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
  • On-Call Pay: £175/week + bonuses for call-outs
  • Overtime Rates: 1.5x after 5:00 PM; 2x on Sundays & Bank Holidays
