Overview

In this hybrid role, you will act as a risk-management subject matter expert to guide the organisation in identifying, assessing, and managing risk. You will support major change initiatives with risk guidance, challenge risk matters, and maintain fit-for-purpose risk metrics and reporting. You’ll document findings from risk reviews, prepare governance papers and MI for boards, and assist with regulatory submissions while aligning the UK framework with global requirements. You’ll collaborate across functions to strengthen controls and risk-monitoring capability, contributing to a risk-aware culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as risk-management SME across the organisation to help identify, articulate, assess, record, and manage risk exposures
  • Support significant business-change initiatives with risk governance and controls
  • Provide independent challenge on risk matters and maintain risk metrics, measures, reporting, and corrective actions
  • Conduct risk-focused reviews and projects assessing risks, controls, governance, and issues
  • Prepare and maintain documentation evidencing scope, findings, and conclusions of risk reviews
  • Produce high-quality governance papers, reports, and MI for risk-governance committees
  • Support regulatory interactions and prepare accurate, clear regulatory documents
  • Maintain and develop the UK Risk Management Framework ensuring alignment with Global requirements
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, Data Governance, and Risk team to oversee material risk exposures and improve controls
  • Oversee risk-monitoring methods and reporting improvements across systems and processes

Key requirements

  • Strong knowledge of risk-management principles with significant experience in a risk function or FCA-regulated environment
  • Ability to analyse complex information, solve problems, and propose practical solutions
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities with capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for governance papers and senior stakeholder engagement
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management to explain risk issues clearly at all levels
