Responsibilities
- Act as the lead legal partner to Product and Engineering, advising on new features and launches from concept through release. Areas include user terms, consumer protection, financial promotions, user-generated content, and AI functionality.
- Lead negotiation and management of market data agreements with exchanges and data vendors, covering licensing, redistribution, usage reporting, and audits.
- Own TradingView's data privacy programme across GDPR and global frameworks, including privacy-by-design, DPIAs, data processing agreements, and cross-border transfers.
- Lead global IP strategy across trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, software, and open source, including brand protection and enforcement.
- Negotiate complex technology, SaaS, cloud, and vendor agreements, with a focus on data processing and security.
- Advise executives and partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Partnerships to identify, manage, and report on legal risk.
- Build and scale the playbooks, policies, processes, and training that strengthen privacy, IP, data, and product governance across the company.
What makes you the perfect fit
- 5-8 years of PQE, with strong experience in data privacy, product counselling, intellectual property, and commercial technology.
- Proven experience supporting a global technology, fintech, or SaaS business, ideally as a dedicated product or privacy counsel.
- Exposure to regulated environments and interaction with regulators is advantageous.
- Deep, practical knowledge of data protection and privacy frameworks (including GDPR, UK GDPR, and other global regimes), with hands‑on experience running DPIAs, advising on cross-border transfers, and embedding privacy into product development.
- Experience advising product teams in a fast-moving, consumer‑facing digital environment, with the ability to give clear, actionable guidance at speed.
- Demonstrated expertise in intellectual property strategy, protection, and enforcement, including software, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, open source, and licensing.
- Experience negotiating data licensing or content licensing agreements; familiarity with financial market data licensing (exchange agreements, redistribution, and usage policies) is a strong advantage.
- Strong experience negotiating complex technology, SaaS, cloud, and data processing agreements, with sound commercial and risk judgement.
- A high level of independence, sound judgement, and ownership, with the ability to lead matters end-to-end while collaborating across teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear business guidance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, product‑driven environment, balancing legal risk with commercial and strategic objectives.

- Private practice and/or in-house experience in a financial services organisation.
- Experience interpreting complex regulations in foreign jurisdictions.
