As a Salaried GP in general practice, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, holistic care to a diverse patient population. Main duties of the job
This role involves delivering safe, effective, and compassionate general medical services to our diverse patient population. Working as part of the wider clinical team at Tower Family Healthcare, the post-holder will carry out a full range of GP duties including face-to-face and telephone consultations, home visits, reviewing test results, managing repeat prescriptions, and handling clinical correspondence. You will assess and manage undifferentiated and diagnosed conditions, screen for disease risk factors, and develop evidence-based care plans. The role also includes health education, referrals, prescribing in line with formulary guidance, maintaining accurate records, contributing to audits, and supporting service development. Flexibility to work across our four branch sites is essential to help meet patient demand.

Job responsibilities
- To provide caring, safe and effective general medical services to ourpatient population
- To contribute to the design & development of services withinTower Family Healthcare
- In accordance with the Tower Family Healthcare rota, as agreed, youwill make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties, includingsurgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patientsat home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, review and follow-up ofblood test results and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in atimely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health careworkers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiatedand undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs ofillness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients andin line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload andreferring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreedstandards
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary(or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general, you will be expected to undertake all the normalduties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
- Providing cover across each of our 4 branchesfor other members of our clinical team in order to meet patient demand
- Awareness ofand compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g.prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
- A commitment tolife-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
- Contributing toevaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation

Skills & Abilities
- Evidence of computer literacy and keyboard skills
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites, services and professional boundaries
- Ability to challenge traditional models of working and to implement and sustain positive change
- Familiarity with EMIS clinical system
Qualifications
- Fully trained GP with CCT Certificate within the past 2 years only
- Family Planning to include LoCSDI-IR, LoCSDI-IO, LoCSDI-RO, LoCIUT
Experience
- Currently working/training in General Practice or other form of community medicine or urgent care
- Evidence of consolidation of professional training, for example, able to demonstrate particular areas of clinical interest or further study
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
- Knowledge of national and local agendas in respect of primary care commissioning, intermediate and urgent care agendas
- Experience of delivering QOF
- Understanding of Primary Care Networks
- Excellent team player who is able to support, value and respect other members of the team
- Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
