Salaried GP post at Reedyford Health Care, a five-partner training practice with a main surgery and a branch in Barrowford. The post holder manages a caseload across surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, repeat prescribing and correspondence, and makes autonomous clinical decisions on presenting problems. Up to four to six sessions are on offer, with flexible arrangements open for discussion and digital consultation platforms already in use. Fit depends on full GMC registration with an MRCGP and eligibility to work immediately as a GP in the UK.
What the job involves
- Hold surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries in line with the agreed practice timetable
- Visit patients at home
- Make autonomous clinical decisions on self-referred and referred presenting problems
- Assess undifferentiated and undiagnosed health needs
- Manage a caseload, admitting and discharging patients and referring to other providers
- Develop care plans in line with disease management protocols
- Check and sign repeat prescriptions and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
- Prescribe from the practice formulary where clinically appropriate
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Provide counselling and health education
- Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes and deal with paperwork and correspondence promptly
- Collect data for audit
Qualifications
- MRCGP or nMRCGP
- Completed GP Registrar training

- Full GMC registration with licence to practise

Skills & knowledge
- Understanding of clinical governance and quality issues
- Understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality servicesMaintaining patient records to an acceptable standard for audit purposes
Checks & eligibility
- Eligible to work immediately as a GP in the UK
Nice to have
- Certificate in Family Planning Services
- Other diplomas or qualifications such as DCH or DRCOG
