Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Location: Gloucester Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 DOE Permanent | Engineering & Manufacturing Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background looking for your next opportunity within a busy engineering and manufacturing environment? We are recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering business in Gloucester. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong mechanical knowledge, fault-finding ability and experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is essential, while electrical or electronic knowledge would be a strong advantage. The Role As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, performance and availability of engineering machinery and production equipment. Your responsibilities will include: Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs Mechanical fault finding and diagnostics Maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems Maintenance and repair of pneumatic systems Repair and replacement of mechanical components Working with pumps, motors, bearings, gearboxes and drive systems Investigating equipment failures and identifying root causes Supporting machinery installations and engineering improvements Minimising production downtime Carrying out routine inspections and servicing Supporting continuous improvement projects Working closely with engineering and production teams Ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently and reliably What We’re Looking For We are looking for candidates with a strong engineering and mechanical maintenance background, ideally gained within a precision engineering, manufacturing, production or industrial environment. Ideally, you will have: Strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge Mechanical maintenance experience Mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills Hydraulics experience Pneumatics experience Experience maintaining industrial machinery Knowledge of pumps, motors, bearings and gearboxes Planned and reactive maintenance experience Machinery breakdown and repair experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Strong technical problem-solving skills Experience within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment Electrical or electronic knowledge would be advantageous A proactive and hands-on engineering approach Why Apply?
