Senior Planning Officer - Development Management

Rate: £45-50 per hour, dependent on experience

Carrington West are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior or Principal Planning Officer to join a local authority in the North West on a 6-month contract. This role sits within the Development Management team and will involve handling a varied case load of planning applications, from complex minors to majors . This will be alongside helping other more junior staff in the authority, acting as a point of referral where necessary.
They would ideally like the successful candidate to work closely with the team ,and be in the office 1-2 times a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage planning applications from pre-application stage through to determination and enforcement
- Provide technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Support junior members of the team and contribute to service development
- Ensure compliance with planning conditions and investigate breaches
- Assist officers with research, analysis, and monitoring
- Present applications at Planning Committee meetings where needed
