A globally recognised financial services organisation is looking for a QA Automation Engineer / SDET to join a technology team responsible for customer-facing digital products used by millions of users worldwide.
Working within a modern engineering environment, you'll help deliver high-quality software across a range of protection, travel and customer servicing platforms.
This is a hands‑on automation role where you'll have the opportunity to influence testing strategy, expand automation coverage and work alongside experienced software engineers in an Agile environment.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks for web and API applications.
- Building scalable UI automation using modern tooling, with a strong focus on Playwright.
- Creating and executing automated and manual test scenarios across sprint and release cycles.
- Increasing automation coverage by identifying and converting suitable manual test cases.
- Working closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers and other stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and helping drive faster, more reliable releases.
- Performing exploratory testing and contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes.
- Producing clear defect reporting, test evidence and risk assessments within a regulated environment.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' experience in QA Automation, SDET or Test Automation Engineering roles.
- Strong experience with Playwright or equivalent modern automation tools.
- Experience automating both UI and API testing.
- Strong understanding of automation framework design and maintenance.
- Experience with Git, source control and code review processes.
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling such as Git Hub Actions, Jenkins or Azure Dev Ops.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Nice to Have
- Experience within Banking, Financial Services, Insurance or other regulated industries.
- Previous exposure to Selenium, Cypress or Webdriver IO.
- Experience testing React‑based front‑end applications.
- Knowledge of Java/Kotlin backend environments.
- Exposure to AI‑assisted engineering tools such as Git Hub Copilo
