In this remote Product Management role, you own the Metal Shafts portfolio strategy, growth, profitability, and lifecycle within Medical Components. You will partner with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Business Development to drive profitable growth and keep the portfolio competitive. You’ll tackle complex challenges and influence multiple functions to deliver measurable business impact. Responsibilities
- Develop a five-year strategic roadmap for the Metal Shafts portfolio
- Drive annual operating plans and deliver Year 1 and Year 2 objectives
- Manage entire product lifecycle including portfolio optimization, investments, and growth initiatives; defend core and leverage manufacturing locations
- Identify opportunities to accelerate growth beyond market rates
- Focus portfolio on attractive, profitable market segments
- Partner with Sales to identify and win strategic opportunities
- Lead pricing, profitability, and market positioning strategies
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
- Develop business cases for investments, capabilities, and portfolio expansion
- Align portfolio strategy with trends in the medical device/medical components industry
- Build strong customer relationships as a trusted commercial and technical partner
- Translate VOC into actionable product/technology strategies (VOB)
- Represent the business in customer meetings and strategic discussions
- Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept to commercialization
- Partner with Engineering to develop differentiated solutions and roadmaps
- Evaluate capability gaps and advise build/buy/partner decisions
- Support development of next-generation products to improve outcomes and competitiveness
- Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales
- Coordinate priorities to meet objectives
- Drive accountability and alignment to customer commitments and contracts
- Facilitate decision-making in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Support network optimization and cost-improvement initiatives
- Improve operational performance and delivery with manufacturing sites
- Define strategic manufacturing footprints to support growth and profitability
- Lead customer communications during supply, production, or operational challenges
- Work globally with China, Galway, Costa Rica and interco supply
Key requirements
- 10+ years in Product Management, Product Line Management, Marketing, Engineering, or related commercial roles
- Experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment
- Strong business acumen with revenue growth and profitability experience
- Ability to analyze technical and market data and translate into strategies
- Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
- Experience in medical devices/medical components or related healthcare markets (preferred)
- Knowledge of metal shaft products and manufacturing technologies (preferred)
- Experience leading NPI programs (preferred)
- Portfolio management, strategic planning, and business case development knowledge (preferred)
