About the role

Our client is a well-established subcontract production facility serving the valve, filtration and defence industries. Established in 1974, the company employs 35 people and operates around 30 CNC machines, generating an annual turnover of approximately £3 million.

With decades of engineering expertise and a strong reputation for quality and precision, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their growing team in Cleckheaton.

The Role

  • Inspecting high-precision components to customer drawings and specifications.
  • Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
  • Inspecting components against customer drawings and quality standards.
  • Producing inspection reports to meet customer requirements.
  • Using conventional measuring equipment, including micrometres, callipers and gauges.
  • Programming and inspecting components using CMM and vision measurement equipment.
  • Calibrating internal measuring equipment.
  • Maintaining the company calibration log.
  • Inspecting small batches and one-off components.
  • Working to tight tolerances in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively as part of the quality and production teams.

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience within a Quality Control Inspector role.
  • Strong background in machining processes and inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using conventional measuring equipment, including micrometres, callipers and gauges.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work using your own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Experience programming CMM equipment.
  • Knowledge of vision measurement equipment.
  • Experience across various machining disciplines.
