Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Senior Functional Consultant

Role Overview

The Senior Business Central Functional Consultant leads full lifecycle Business Central implementations, providing expert functional guidance and delivering high quality solutions. The role focuses on requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, training, and ongoing client support, while contributing to project governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Delivery & Functional Expertise
   1. Lead full lifecycle Business Central Implementations
   2. Analyse and document business requirements across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, service management and warehousing
   3. Configure core Business Central
   4. Develop functional specifications for integrations and customisations in collaboration with technical teams
2. Client Engagement
   1. Facilitate workshops, training sessions and UAT
   2. Act as primary advisor for clients throughout the implementation lifecycle
   3. Provide guidance on process optimisation, system adoption and digital transformation
   4. Build strong client relationships
   5. Assist with hyper-care, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
   6. Lead enhancement projects and continuous improvements
3. Delivery & Leadership
   1. Support Project Managers with scoping, estimation, planning and risk management
   2. Participate in solution reviews and design approvals
   3. Promote & share best practices
   4. Collaborate closely with technical consultants, developers and client service teams
   5. Mentor junior consultants

Skills & Experience

1. Core Functional
   1. 5+ years functional consulting experience with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV)
   2. Strong understanding of finance processes (AP/AR/GL, cash management), supply chain, warehousing and manufacturing
   3. Experience of Co-Pilot and Agentic AI and a good understanding of MS Power Platform
2. Analytical & Soft Skills
   1. Ability to write clear functional specifications and test scripts
   2. Proficient with Excel, configuration packages and Power BI (desirable)
   3. Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
   4. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
   5. Strong organisation and time management skills
3. Qualifications
   1. MS Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant certification (MB-800)
   2. Degree in Business, IT, Accounting or related discipline (desirable but not essential)
