The purpose of the Estimator is to provide estimates for the costs of a project, products, and services. You will be researching prices of the various components and obtaining estimates and quotes from vendors and contractors. You will support the sales team with proposals, tracking costs, and understanding the customer’s specifications to calculate the final budget for the project, product, or service. You'll also present your analysis to the Senior Management team.
- To deliver accurate tenders with commercial aspects in mind, while also delivering to client requirements.
- To research and present different methods of reducing cost through supply chain, method of fabrication, installation, or value engineering.
- Support the sales team in attendance in meetings with our customers including delivery of technical presentations as well as participation in engineering and commercial discussions.
- To attend the monthly contract review meetings.
- Support the Sales and Operational department leads to identify and collate project risks.
- Assessing the risk levels associated with a project.
- Visiting project sites to gather information.
- Keeping up to date with the latest regulatory and legislative requirements as well as latest engineering technologies.
Knowledge of CAD Software. Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and word processing. A Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or/and mechanical engineering would be advantageous.
