Sutton Recruitment are working exclusively to recruit an Administrator to cover exceptional support to the operational business functions. The client is a leading company who specialises in the production of innovative precast reinforced, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete products. As the largest independent producer of pre-stressed bridge beams in Britain, they offer a comprehensive range of beam profiles as well as bespoke reinforced and post-tensioned products developed and tailored to the needs of individual projects.
Job Overview: We are seeking an organised and proactive Operations Administrator to join our team at our precast manufacturing facility. This role will be key in supporting the Senior Operations Manager with daily administrative tasks and ensuring smooth operations on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be comfortable interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timesheet Management: Monitor and manage shop floor timesheets, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the Accounts Department for payroll purposes.
- Shop floor Presence: Maintain a visible and active presence on the shop floor, liaising with Production Managers and Supervisors to obtain required information.
- Drawing Management: Print, laminate, and distribute technical drawings to the appropriate personnel on the shop floor.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Senior Operations/Quality Manager, including daily scheduling, document handling, and other essential tasks.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of operational processes and quality inspections.
- Employee Interaction: Act as a liaison between shop floor employees and management, ensuring clear communication and supporting operational needs.
- General Support: Assist with various operations-related tasks as needed to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an operations or quality administration role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
Additional Information:
- This role requires a hands-on approach, with time spent on the shop floor, so the candidate must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
- Full PPE will be provided.
What’s on offer:
- Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm (30 minute lunch un-paid)
- 24 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
- Nest Pension; 3% client, 5% employee
