About the role

Sulzer (Aberdeen) Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to safely and efficiently operate various machinery in our manufacturing facility, ensuring high-quality product output according to specifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery including but not limited to CNC machines, lathes, and mills, adhering to all safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Perform routine checks and inspections on machinery to identify and report any malfunctions or defects, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
  • Load and unload materials and components into machines, ensuring correct positioning and secure handling.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure accurate production processes and product specifications.
  • Monitor production output and adjust machine settings as required to maintain quality standards and meet production targets.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and measurements using various tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify product conformity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles and contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform basic maintenance tasks; escalate complex problems to maintenance personnel.
  • Accurately complete production logs, quality control documents, and other required paperwork.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of machine operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform duties that may involve lifting, standing, and repetitive movements.
  • Forklift operation certification is a plus.
  • Relevant vocational training or technical certification is desirable.
