Senior Engineering Manager
About the role
Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to shape the safe and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects?
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our regional Engineering Team, provide expert technical guidance and influence our project teams to deliver with confidence.
Key responsibilities Lead and support the regional Engineering Team, building capability and confidence across the region.
Provide technical leadership, engineering assurance and practical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Support project teams from design and development through to delivery, commissioning and handback.
Act as a trusted subject matter expert, bringing challenge, innovation and clear decision-making to complex schemes.
Champion safety-by-design, quality and continuous improvement across our projects, partners and supply chain.
Help ensure engineering processes, plans and standards are applied consistently and effectively.
What we need Essential A Civil Engineering qualification at degree, HNC/HND level or equivalent.
Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional body, such as ICE or REI.
Strong experience in UK rail contracting and multidisciplinary engineering delivery.
Proven engineering management experience, with comprehensive understanding of relevant rail legislation and regulations.
Confidence leading, mentoring and developing technical teams.
Clear communication and influencing skills, with a collaborative approach.
Desirable Experience as a CEM and/or CRE within the Network Rail Agile Client Eastern model.
Experience delivering projects for non-rail clients, such as water, energy or environment.
