This role is the latest step in the growth and development of TRI247. As an essential member of the core editorial team you’ll bring added energy and new ideas. We’re looking for a dynamic and creative individual who is keen to hunt out the best stories and features – and then make them resonate with our rapidly-increasing audience.
Your remit will involve sourcing and telling stories across a range of platforms as well as exploring new ways to help triathlon reach as wide an audience as possible. From big-name interviews and race reports to new and insightful ways to build the profile of the sport and inspire the next generation of fans. The role will require weekend and out-of-hours work and at least one day a week in our York office.
The successful applicant will have boundless creativity, a great work ethic and the desire to go above and beyond to help the wider team deliver success. For the right candidate there will be exceptional opportunities to develop experience, take on new responsibilities and dictate the direction of the platform.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and create content strands which will work on web and social media platforms
- Source & verify and publish news stories in a timely manner
- Build relationships with athletes, coaches & agents
- Apply best practice from creation to publishing & promotion
- Contribute to content planning & strategy
- Understand what type of content does (and does not) resonate among our audience
- In-depth triathlon knowledge is essential
- Strong writing skills and a keen eye for detail
- Strong sense of visuals and the power of images/video in storytelling
- Existing triathlon contacts / network beneficial but not essential
- Video / image editing skills beneficial but not essential
- Creative and innovative thinking
