About the role

This job is with Soho House, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community.

*THIS ROLE IS BASED FULL TIME AT OUR SOHO HOME STUDIO IN NUNEATON, WARWICKSHIRE*

The Role…

Reporting directly to the London-based Head of Creative, we are looking for a highly autonomous, creative Still Life and Interiors Photographer to take the reins of our in-house studio in Nuneaton. In this role, you will take full ownership of daily shoot execution and technical output, delivering high-quality, on-brand studio photography and video content across our luxury product categories. You will run the studio independently day-to-day, while collaborating with our Freelance Art Director on seasonal creative projects. This role requires a balance of independent self-sufficiency and the agility to work quickly under creative direction to maintain and elevate Soho Home’s premium aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independent Studio Ownership: Take full ownership of the Nuneaton studio floor, independently setting up and shooting across diverse categories including large-scale furniture, lighting, drapery, and small accessories.
  • Technical Excellence: Demonstrate deep technical understanding of Aputure continuous lighting. You must have the ability to build complex, nuanced lighting setups for high-end creative projects, while maintaining the speed and agility required to quickly pivot and execute direction from the Art Director when on set.
  • Advanced Capture Techniques: Utilise advanced photographic techniques (such as focus stacking via Helicon Focus) to ensure high-fidelity, razor-sharp capture of complex textures, materials, and luxury finishes when required.
  • Brand Consistency: Interpret established brand guidelines with minimal daily supervision, ensuring all lighting, composition, and styling meet Soho Home's premium standards.
  • Video Content Capture: Capture high-quality video content (e.g., product motion) alongside stills as required by the shoot brief to support digital product pages and social media channels.
  • Retouching Collaboration: Partner closely with the Retouching team to ensure texture realism, material integrity, and colour accuracy are achieved in-camera where possible, providing clear notes to minimise post-production friction.
  • Asset Management: Manage the technical side of the live shoot, including tethered file capture, accurate file naming conventions, and final delivery for post-production.
  • Studio Operations: Work alongside the Studio Production Coordinator to ensure daily shoot lists are completed on time, maintaining a clean, efficient, and organised studio environment.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience: Proven experience in a mid-to-senior studio photography role, with a demonstrated ability to run a studio completely independently.
  • Portfolio: A strong, professional portfolio of Still Life, Product, and/or Interiors Photography demonstrating versatility across both hard and soft goods (e.g., lighting structured furniture vs. textured drapery).
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive, hands-on experience with Canon camera systems and professional continuous lighting setups.
  • Software Expertise: Full understanding of all Capture One tools is essential (including tethering, session management, layers and masking, colour editor, styles and presets and more) to deliver flawless results and maintain an efficient studio workflow. Experience with Helicon Focus is highly desirable.
  • Autonomy Agility: A high level of self-sufficiency on daily shoots, balanced with the ability to work at pace and adapt instantly to creative feedback during fast-moving, collaborative campaign sessions.
  • Video Capabilities: Experience shooting short-form video content, colour grading and key camera movements and how to achieve them.

Know Your Design Tools Inside Out

Familiarity with software like Adobe Creative Suite is a must!
